Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc, also Sauvignon Blanc is a technical (wine) grape variety used for the production of white wines. One of the most common and cultivated varieties in the world.

Grapes Sauvignon Blanc appeared as a result of the natural crossing of varieties such as traminer and Chenin blanc.

Sauvignon Blanc mutations are Sauvignon Gris (or Sauvignon Rose), Sauvignon Noir and Sauvignon Violet grapes. Sauvignon Blanc grapes are cylindrical in shape and the berries grow densely one to another. They are oblong, small in size, the color of ripened berries varies from light yellow to golden.

The leaves are small, rounded, usually five-fingered. The edges are serrated. The surface of the leaves is hilly. The vine is tree-like, which allows it to withstand moderate winter cold.

Sauvignon Blanc matures quite late, about a week later than Sylvaner.

The amount of wine produced is relatively small - about 60-70 hectoliters per hectare.
