Mozzarella

Hazelnut variety Mozzarella. The nut is roughly spherical or oval in shape, about 15-25 mm long and 10-15 mm in diameter, with an outer fibrous husk surrounding a smooth shell.

Hazelnuts are more elongated, being about twice as long as their diameter.

Nuts fall out of their husks when ripe, 7 to 8 months after pollination.

The kernel is edible and used raw or roasted or ground into a paste. The kernels have a thin, dark brown skin that is sometimes removed before cooking.

Hazelnuts are rich in protein, monounsaturated fats, vitamin E, manganese, and many other essential nutrients.

A bush with great vigor, grows up to 4 meters in height, the crown is about 2 meters in diameter. San Giovanni's best hazelnut pollinator. It starts bearing fruit 3 years after planting.
